CFP: AHUC 2008, The Second IEEE International Workshop on Ad Hoc and Ubiquitous Computing ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Second IEEE International Workshop on Ad Hoc and Ubiquitous Computing (AHUC 2008) Taichung, Taiwan, June 11-13, 2008 http://mcl.nutn.edu.tw/AHUC2008/ To be held in conjunction with The IEEE International Conference on Sensor Networks, Ubiquitous, and Trustworthy Computing (SUTC 2008) http://sutc2008.csie.ncu.edu.tw/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Wireless communication technologies are going through rapid evolution. In the last few years, we have observed an explosive growth of ad hoc networks, ubiquitous computing and applications. This revolution is transforming the way people live, work, and interact with each other, and is impacting the way businesses, education, entertainment, and healthcare are operating. The Second IEEE International Workshop on Ad Hoc and Ubiquitous Computing (AHUC 2008) is an international forum for researchers to exchange information regarding advancements in the state of the art and practice of ad hoc networks, ubiquitous computing, as well as to identify the emerging research topics and define the future of ad hoc networks, ubiquitous computing. We solicit high quality technical papers that describe original and unpublished research on ad hoc and ubiquitous computing. The papers should not be submitted simultaneously for publication elsewhere. Submissions of high quality papers describing mature results or on-going work are invited. Topics of Interest ------------------ Topics for submissions include but are not limited to: * Ad Hoc Computing - Addressing and location management - Architectures, protocols, and algorithms - Data management - Distributed technology - Mobile ad hoc networking - Network design and planning - Power-aware and energy-efficient designs - Quality of services - Security and privacy - Self-configuring and self-healing schemes - Services and applications - Traffic analysis and control - Vehicular ad hoc communication and networks - Wireless sensor networks * Ubiquitous Computing - Architectural structure, design decisions and philosophies - Context-aware computing - Intelligent devices and environments - Interoperability and wide scale deployment - Middleware services and agent technologies - Personalized applications - Pervasive Computing - Service discovery mechanisms and protocols - Software infrastructures - System support infrastructures and services - Ubiquitous computing systems and applications - User interfaces and interaction models - Wearable computing and technologies - Wireless/mobile service management and delivery Electronic Submission --------------------- Authors are invited to submit research contributions representing original, previously unpublished work. Submitted papers will be carefully evaluated based on originality, significance, technical soundness, and clarity of exposition. All papers will be refereed by at least two reviewers. Accepted papers will be published by IEEE Computer Society Press, as proceedings of the AHUC 2008 workshop. Submit a full paper of about 6 pages (IEEE Computer Society Proceedings Manuscripts style: two columns, single-spaced), including figures and references, using 10 font size, and numbering each page. You can confirm the IEEE Computer Society Proceedings Manuscripts at http://computer.org/cspress/instruct.htm. Contact author must input the following information at the AHUC 2008 web site: paper title, authors' names, affiliations, postal address, phone, fax, and e-mail address of the author, about 200-250 word abstract, and five keywords. Prepare your paper in Postscript or PDF file (Adobe format). Please follow up the submission steps in http://mcl.nutn.edu.tw/AHUC2008/. Please save your file using your name, i.e. John Smith's file would be smith.pdf. If you are submitting two or more files, please number them with smith1.pdf, smith2.pdf, etc. When you submit a paper, please go to AHUC outline submission system (http://mcl.nutn.edu.tw/AHUC2008/) and follow the instructions to submit your paper. Submission of a paper implies that should the paper be accepted, at least one of the authors will register and present the paper in the workshop. Each accepted paper must have a full registration in order to include the paper in the workshop proceedings. Accepted papers will be given guidelines in preparing and submitting the final manuscript(s) together with the notification of acceptance. Special Issue of JIT -------------------- Selected high-quality papers will be invited to a special issue of Journal of Internet Technology on "Ad Hoc and Ubiquitous Computing". http://jit.ndhu.edu.tw/englisha.php Important Dates --------------- Submission Deadline: January 1, 2008 (Deadline Extension) Notification of acceptance: February 15, 2008 Camera ready papers: March 14, 2008 Workshop Co-Chairs ------------------ Tzung-Shi Chen, National University of Tainan, Taiwan Yuh-Shyan Chen, National Taipei University, Taiwan Steering Committee Chair ------------------------ Jong Hyuk Park, Kyungnam University, Korea Program Co-Chairs ----------------- Han-Chieh Chao, National Ilan University, Taiwan Chih-Yung Chang, Tamkang University, Taiwan Program Committee ----------------- Dharma P.
